Robotics and AI to scale seaweed farming.
We make swarms of monitoring robots equipped with sensors and cameras that can detect pathogens, check nutrient levels/acidity levels and report back on biomass growth. This reduces cost and effort of monitoring enabling seaweed farms to scale to their full potential with minimal labour and less fuel-intensive boat trips.
Why are we doing this? Seaweed farming is a labour-intensive process. 70% of the costs, as well as the carbon footprint, comes from manual labour and repeated boat trips. By automating this process we can help seaweed farmers scale 1000x.
Our mission: To take 10 million tonnes of carbon out of the atmosphere by 2033 by scaling seaweed farming using robotics and AI. We believe the ocean is central to solving the climate and nature emergency. Samudra is developing technology to scale seaweed farming, the blue economy and blue carbon assets.
